  • Night of Floods & Landslides

    Dir: Colleen Coy

Night of Floods & Landslides was filmed at Tuntable Community the night of 27 February 2022 during the massive deluge of rains that made it impossible to leave the community that night. The following morning we heard the rumble of earth, which we soon discovered was a landslide that nearly undercut the house where filming took place. This landslide completely covered the exit road from the community and we were forced to stay where we were for 4 days before eventually leaving the car behind and walking out over the landslide to get to Nimbin. This experimental Screendance was the result of our experience of these massive rains, which have affected so many in our region. • 2020 Redacted

    Dir: Colleen Coy

2020 Redacted is the director's cut of 2020 Each Week, a series of 52 one-minute experimental films, one for each week of the year. The series forms a video diary that chronicles my creative year in isolation during the Covid-19 lockdowns. I am a dancer and these videos reflect my perspectives on Screendance, movement, rhythm, colour, texture, sound, light, and nature. The discipline of regular practice required that I confront my sense of imperfection, unfamiliarity with the medium, and apprehensions about sharing my work publicly. 2020 Each Week stimulated my senses and perceptions, reminding me that “it’s not what you see, but how you see.”
