How to collect your entry armband.

MardiGrass has always been about trust but it doesn’t happen all by itself. Months of preparation and ground work go into the weekend so the village as a whole benefits as well as the thousands of visitors. We’d like it to happen in such a way that everyone who attends it has an uplifting experience. Accordingly, MardiGrass asks that everyone understands the critical importance of buying armbands. Without you buying armbands we are history. Some businesses even give preferential service to armband wearers and we support that. We need your support. Please buy one!! Available online or from the Info Desk at the front of Nimbin Town Hall all MardiGrass weekend.

Camping passes are per-person, NOT per-vehicle or per-tent.

To collect your armband and claim a camping spot:

  • Go to the Nimbin Showgrounds at 33 Cecil Street, Nimbin.
  • Identify yourself with your PayPal receipt. (Printed copy or on your phone)
  • Or show identification (eg driver’s licence etc) in the name of the purchaser.

To collect your event armband:

  • Go to the Nimbin Town Hall at Cullen Street, Nimbin.
  • Identify yourself with your PayPal receipt. (Printed copy or on your phone)
  • Or show identification (eg driver’s licence etc) in the name of the purchaser.

During Mardigrass, there are $30 Day Tickets available from the Information Desk at the front of the Nimbin Town Hall.  Day Tickets are not pre-sold online, and are only available in-person in Nimbin.

From Monday 29 April, locals may purchase $30 MardiGrass armbands from the Nimbin Hemp Embassy, or from the Town Hall Info Desk over the MardiGrass weekend. For our purpose, the definition of “local” is the 2480 post code.  These tickets are not pre-sold online, and are only available in-person in Nimbin.

Camping Guidelines

For the comfort and safety of all campers:

The Golden Bud pass for $150 per person includes  3-nights camping – Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights  at the Nimbin Showgrounds plus entry to all MardiGrass events! Golden Bud pass can be booked online now or bought at the Showgrounds when you arrive in Nimbin.

The Nimbin Showground is a great place to camp within easy walking distance of the village of Nimbin and MardiGrass.

We do ask that campers arrive before dark to ensure the safety of themselves and other campers when setting up.

Children twelve years and under are FREE for both camping and entry to MardiGrass.

Camping only in designated areas. There are three camping areas set aside:

  1. Quiet area
  2. Reasonably noisy area
  3. Family area

Keep your space clean and tidy – garbage bags provided.

Bring your own campervan, caravan or tent.

There are a small number of powered sites – first come, first served!

Camping is also available before and after MardiGrass. Book with Nimbin Showgrounds.

Facilities include powered and non-powered sites, a camp kitchen (refrigerator, microwave, kettle, sink, and free electric barbecue), toilets, hot showers, and a rotary clothesline. We also have a dedicated dump point for the benefit of motorhome operators.

Please keep noise in camping areas to a respectable level – be considerate of your neighbours.

  • No generators!
  • No loud drumming after midnight!
  • No barking dogs please!

We recommend that you do NOT bring pets, however owners may do so at your own risk.

The canteen will be open all weekend!

  • Friday, Saturday and Sunday
  • 7:00am to 7:00pm

Open fires are to be restricted to central communal fire area.

  • No private or individual fires in the camp area.
  • Please refrain from having fires in the day – it’s only wasting valuable firewood.

First Aid and Fire Extinguishers available at the Canteen.

Emergency Assembly Area is at front entrance parking area.
